Attention is the most valuable currency.
Attention is the most valuable currency.
Here's the kicker. If you're attention is on the past or the future, you cannot be happy. Learning from the past or planning your futures is terrific. But life can only be lived in the present moment. A perpetual now.
Everyone can focus, but keeping your focus on something, is getting harder.
It's not your fault. Tech companies want your attention (as it's worth $trillions) and they know how to get it.
We're getting used to short form content, video's and snippets of information. It's everywhere, we're in the midst of it.
How you navigate it...well, that's up to you...it's within your control.
You steer the ship. You can train your attention.
Yet because of the information overload, it's getting harder.
That's why it's the first step in meditation. The ability to concentrate. It's essential for all higher cognitive abilities.
Without it, your mindfulness or awareness, will be sporadic.
It's important because at this time, attention spans are shrinking. As a result, critical and deeper level thinking and flow states, are diminishing,
It's time to pay attention.
Why? Because where your attention goes, energy flows.
Consider where your attention goes.
Meditation is essentially mental skills in attention + attitude.
