The importance of breathing functionally

The most important thing you do is…breathe.

Here's the kicker: How you breathe, determines your experience.

When the busyness, pressures and distractions hit, what's your breathing like then? I bet it's short, shallow and fast.

And most likely, you'll be breathing dysfunctionally...the belly goes in as you breathe up from your chest.

And this is a breeding ground for anxiety. Heart rate rises, muscles tense up and thinking goes wild.

Just by the way you breathe.

It’s so so simple…

...and determines your experience, regardless of the circumstance faced.

Think traffic.

Do you wave your arms, toot the horn and speak fluent French?

Or do you do your best to remain composed even though they've cut you off?

Why is this important?

Because your reality is more important than their reality.

If you want to impact your mood, energy levels and keep your heart rate regular, breathe in a functional fashion, through your diaphragm.

The way to know, is that when you take an in-breath, your belly blows out like a small balloon. Think of a baby in a cot.

Over-thinking? Can't switch off?

Take a Brain Break.
