Precious ‘me’ time
Instead of going away for the long weekend, I went in.
Into my own inner world for a tune up 🧠
On a 3.5 day silent retreat with a monk (I’m not Buddhist).
There was no talking, reading, writing, eye contact or distractions…and certainly no phone📱
Instead, the time was spent quietening down and tuning in.
Ahhhh....what a mental and digital detox.
Most people think that is hard.
Initially it is. Especially if you are overstimulated.
Yet once the dust settles, you go beyond the thinking.
You deal with things you may wish to avoid or notice cravings for the things you don’t have.
It's a mental purification.
Yes, a deeper level of serenity was reached. How could it not be when you remove stimulation.
I walked out lighter, more clear and rejuvenated.
It's like I tweaked, balanced and calibrated my inner world.
Needless to say, it's a work in progress ;-)
When the thinking subsides, you get to deal with what's going on under the surface.
No need to wait.
You can have your own mini-retreat each day.
In fact, you can do it today...being lead In a group.
This one is called a 'Brain Break' and you can join in for 20mins of precious 'me' time every week on zoom.

You will walk away feeling better.
