Calming down of mental activity.
Calming down of mental activity.
For many of us, from the moment we wake up in the morning, we reach for the phone (probably to turn the alarm off).
And next, the phone is unlocked and we open up to the vortex of information (that will be blasted our way all day).
Meditating before checking your phone, sets you up for the day. You train mental equilibrium to prepare you for the ups and downs...because they're coming, each day.
It's a great exercise in prepare for dealing with distractions and to reduce stimulation; to be more composed, grounded and considered.
Note, I did say more...not perfectly.
Yet thinking (and being inspired) about it is the first step - it's the idea, the impetus to make better use of your precious time.
The next stage is - Doing.
This is the time spent in practice...that endless chasm of reps in stillness and silence, with whatever technique that serves you most.
And remember, it takes a measly 10mins, three times a week (that's it!) to maintain the mental, emotional and physical benefits of practice.
Training mental skills in attention and attitude (meditation in the workplace) is a game changer. Get in touch to learn more.
